Hot Springs Village Citizen’s Police Academy Alumni Assn. (CPAAA)
The Hot Springs Village Police Department inaugurated a Citizens Policy Academy in April 2014 to give residents the opportunity to become more familiar with the operations of the department.
Participants learn about each division of the department, including administrative, patrol, criminal investigation, dispatch, gates and animal control. The program lasts eight weeks, one night per week.
Graduates of the Academy, realizing the need for a support group for the Hot Springs Village Police Department, formed an alumni association in September 2015. Officers were selected and 501(c)(3) status quickly obtained, which means that the HSV CPAAA is a non-profit organization and donations to it are tax deductible.
The main purpose of the association is to raise funds for needs of the department that are not currently covered by the Hot Springs Village Property Owners’ Association budget.
